A rare shot of a Red Kite perched atop a Scots Pine tree laden with Pine Combs, and doing a god job of hiding or camouflaging itself from its surrounding environment as it is exactly the same colour as the cones. The bird is actually calling which is affecting the number of birds there are, in case you can see or hear. The camera angle is, unusually, downward pointing providing the viewer with a rare opportunity of having to look down on a bird. The exceptionally blurred background is due to excellent bokeh on the 150mm-450mm lens used. The bird spends most of its day on or near this tree above the fields of moderately long grass, where it has an excellent vantagepoint from whence to survey the meadows and fields in the surrounding fields, where its main prey - field mice - are.
