Cute photo of a baby fox kit, or pup, reaching up to kiss its mother. Foxes are very affectionate animals and very shy. These are red foxes but the babies originally appear brown when very young but their fur turns a reddish colour as they mature. The photo was taken outside their den which was in a culvert in an urban area. Foxes often move into urban areas to raise their kits, to avoid predators such as coyotes.
