The stone plaque on the Mayor's Office in the Plaza or main square of the Andean town of Barichara. It says Barichara was founded in 1705 by Francisco Pradilla y Ayerbe. It is a simple plaque cemented into a wall that is painted white. The name Barichara comes from the local Guane dialect and means, 'Place of relaxation'. The town is of touristic importance.
