The Church of Our Lady of Liesse in Valletta, Malta, was built in 1620 by French knights of the Order of St John. Located near the Grand Harbour, it is dedicated to the Virgin Mary under the title of "Our Lady of Liesse," meaning "Our Lady of Joy." It was originally constructed to serve as a place of worship for dockworkers and seafarers. Despite damage during World War II, it was restored.
