Rome, Italy: Palazzo INA on Piazza della Valle is a rationalist office building located on the corner of Piazza di Sant'Andrea della Valle and Corso del Rinascimento, in the Rione of Sant'Eustachio. Built between 1933 and 1938 during the fascist regime of Benito Mussolini and on the occasion of the opening of the works on Corso del Rinascimento by the architects Arnaldo Foschini and Salvatore Rebecchini. All covered in white travertine, the palace opens onto a large portal with a lunette-shaped top, and all its windows and openings are rectangular. On the top floor is a small balcony with a porch decorated with mosaics representing the She-Wolf and the twins Romulus and Remus. On the facade, a large inscription in Latin whose meaning is “War-like virtue extends the borders of Italy and creates a new beauty in the city, the year of the lord of 1937, the first of the Empire”.
