"VArAsmarty tAr or VArAsmarty square is a small but popular square in the Budapest city centre at the northern end of VA!ci utca.At the centre of the square facing west is a large statue of poet MihA!ly VArAsmarty, on the pedestal of which people tend to congregate. Behind the monument is a small fenced park and a fountain flanked by stone lions.At the north end of the square is the famous CafA Gerbeaud and stairs to the southern terminus of the Budapest Metro's venerable yellow line (M1).The square is ringed by expensive cafAs and restaurants catering mostly to tourists.
