The court cards (picture cards) display former monarchs of Britain, along with their names and dates, and this pack was issued without a joker. This Jack is shown as Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester (1532 - 1588). Dudley was a 'favourite' of Queen Elizabeth I of England.
