Piazza dei signori main
High Resolution JPEG Picture of Piazza dei Signori is the main square of the old town of Vicenza. It has a rectangular shape and is overlooked by the most important buildings of the city, as the Palladian Basilica and the Loggia del Capitanio, works of the architect Andrea Palladio (1508-1580). The beautiful city is known and mostly visited thanks to the numerous architectures dating back to the late Renaissance, created by the famous Venetian architect. For this reason Vicenza is also known as the "city of Palladio" and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994. -selective focus_
